San Jose Earthquakes Confirm Bobby Convey's Signing!

The San Jose Earthquakes announced today the signing of international midfielder Bobby Convey.

After weeks of negotiations, the 25 years old international midfielder comes back to MLS after 5 seasons spent with Reading in the English Championship (second division - 2004-2006 and 2008-2009) and Premier League (2006-2008)

He played 98 games for Reading and scored 7 goals.

“It is rare to be able to acquire a U.S. international in the prime of his career,” said General Manager of Soccer Operations John Doyle. “When he became available we jumped at the opportunity to add him to our team. He is a great attacking player who will make an immediate impact, and our fans will enjoy watching him.”

Convey, 45 selections with the US national team, should replace Lima as a center midfield where he will be associated to another experienced player, Ramiro Corrales.
