Great Fun for over 400 kids
at Carnaval SoccerFest 2008

Monday, May 26th, 2008
More than 400 kids participated to the Mission District's Carnaval Soccerfest this year. Many soccer activities, all for free, were proposed on the turf soccer field of John O'Connell High School.
While some of them were trying to win Pure Potential soccer balls at the Shoot out contest, others were learning skills from professional players, most of them members of the USA Beach Soccer National team.

These fun games and skills sessions were only interrupted by spectacular Foot Volley demonstrations and raffles with great prizes to win. Soccer goals and balls, kid's equipments, autographed San Jose Earthquakes' Jerseys, autographed US Beach Soccer National Team jerseys and a Freddy Adu worn and autographed US National Team jersey are some of the prizes lucky winners brought home. Some San Jose Earthquakes players even showed up on Saturday for an autograph session!

The event also included scrimmages for boys and girls of all ages which turned out to be the most succesful part of the event. Some kids who came on Saturday came back early on Sunday, and played again. Some of them stayed for hours while their parents were walking around in the Carnaval. Some parents had a hard time convincing their kids that it was time to go home!
