With four games to go before the end of the regular season (all of them at home), the San Francisco Seals are still a serious candidate to the playoffs (see rankings below). They share the 3rd position with Ventura County Fusion with 21 points, only 1 point behind the Los Angeles Legends (2nd) but with one more game to play. The Los Angeles Legends are their opponent for their first match of the week-end this Saturday at USF (see schedule below). |
This match will be crucial: a win could put them in a very good position before receiving less than 24 hours later (on Sunday) the Lancaster Rattlers, the weakest team in the League with 9 points in 13 matches. As usual for the home Seals' games, a local punk band will be entertaining the crowd at the half of each match.
The San Jose Frogs (5th position, 3 points behind the Seals) have 4 games to play as well, but 3 of them away. They are still hoping they can catch up with the teams on top of the table and make the playoffs. This doesn't only depend on them anymore.

However the mission is not impossible as they play the Orange County Blue stars on Friday and the Southern California Seahorses on Saturday, both battling with the Lancaster Rattlers to avoid the last position while some of other top teams will play against another. (See schedule below)
The positions are very tight and if the Frogs and the Seals obtained good results this week-end, we could have a fantastic final for a spot in the playoffs on Sunday, July 20th at Negoesco Stadium (USF), when the Seals receive the Frogs. Everything could be decided in the Bay Area derby!
